SRINAGAR: The Indian-held Kashmir (IHK) stepped towards its revival on Saturday as offices, shops and other businesses opened for the first time since Burhan Wani’s killing on July 8.
A small number of shops were already operational but for limited time duration. The Kashmiri people – fighting for their right to self-determination – relaxed the shutdown for two additional days and requested the general public to resume everyday activities over the weekend.
A massive traffic jam was reportedly seen on Srinagar’s roads as the ‘public transport’ came out to carry out their day to day activities.
