JAMRUD: Levies and Khasadar forces arrested four alleged suicide bombers from Jamrud’s Shaks area and recovered five suicide bomb vests on Friday.
According to sources, law enforcement personnel arrested four alleged suicide bombers from Jamrud in Khyber Agency. Five suicide vests and explosive belts were also recovered from the alleged militants filled with 25 kilograms of explosive material.
Levies and Khasadar forces had acted on intelligence reports. On this occasion, Assistant Political Agent Ziaullah Marwat held a press conference and revealed that the militants wanted to cause destruction at a large scale. He said that the militants caught were apprehended in the operation and the law enforcement agencies were not negligent regarding their duties.
He also disclosed how these militants planned to carry out an attack on Pakistan’s Independence Day, August 14. Law enforcement agencies in Pakistan have been vigilant and conducting raids to arrest suspicious persons after Monday’s Quetta blast, which claimed the lives of more than 70 people and injured dozens of others.
