ISLAMABAD – Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon urged for enhancing relations between Pakistan and Nepal to strengthen medical institutions.
Speaking to senior Nepali medical professionals educated in Pakistan, she applauded the existing relations between the medical institutions of the two countries and stressed College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) to cooperate with the Nepal Medical Council.
The BISP chairperson is currently visiting Nepal in connection with International Women Day being organised by International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), said a news release issued here on Wednesday.
Sharing his remarks on the occasions, Pakistan Ambassador Mazhar Javed urged the Nepali doctors to make maximum use of the extraordinary facilities offered by the Pakistani higher medical institutions in particular the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP).
Nepal Medical Council President Dr Dharma Kanta Baskota and regional head of CPSP appreciated the role of CPSP in the field of medical education in Nepal. College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan Senior Vice-President Dr Khalid Masood Gondal gave detailed presentation on the recent progress in the field of higher education in Pakistan and the facilities available to Nepalese medical graduates.
The event was attended by over 70 senior medical consultants/deans/professors working at various Nepalese institutions and graduated from Pakistan.
