ISLAMABAD: Around 6032 Pakistani illegal immigrants have been returned to Pakistan from European Union (EU) member states through routine and chartered flights since October, 2013.
A break-up issued by Interior Ministry on Friday showed that of the total, 65 illegal immigrants were received from Austria, 142 from Belgium, 34 from Bulgaria, 16 from France, 84 from Germany, 3209 from Greece, 10 from Hungary, one each from Ireland and Italy, four from Netherlands, six from Romania, 284 from Spain, five each from Sweden and Poland and 2202 deportees were received from United Kingdom during the period.
During the period, 240 cases have been registered against deportees. Prosecution has also taken place and in 157 cases deportees have been convicted while 12 agents have also been convicted in cases. The authorities registered 98 cases against agents of which 12 convicted and 86 cases are pending.
